Aesthetic medicine treatments: how to enhance beauty at every stage of life

By Linda inKsurgery MED, Treatments

When is the right time to start with aesthetic medicine? The answer is not unique and depends on several factors, including individual needs, lifestyle and, of course, age. Caring for the beauty and well-being of the skin is a matter that evolves over time, requiring specific attention and targeted treatments depending on age.
In general, aesthetic medicine offers customized solutions to meet the different needs that arise over time.

At 20-30 years of age: prevention and hydration

At this stage, the skin is young, toned, and free of obvious signs of aging. However, this is precisely the ideal time to begin a path of prevention, laying the foundation for healthy, radiant skin over time. Taking care of the skin at a young age means effectively counteracting future damage caused by environmental factors (sun, pollution), stress, and lifestyle habits, thus slowing down skin aging processes. Recommended treatments in this age group include:

  • Custom Skincare: usingspecific products with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid can help maintain hydrated skin and promote elasticity.
  • Sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher): essential to prevent damage caused by UV rays, the main cause of skin aging.
  • Light Chemical Peels: to gently exfoliate the surface layer of the skin, improving its texture, and radiance and evening out the complexion.
  • Biostimulation: using microinjections of biocompatible substances, skin regeneration is stimulated, supporting the production of new collagen and improving skin radiance, without altering facial volumes.
  • Mesotherapy: cocktails of vitamins, minerals, and hyaluronic acid to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and firmness.

30s to 40s: Correction of Early Wrinkles and Loss of Volume

In this decade, the first signs of aging begin to appear, such as fine wrinkles, loss of radiance, and skin tone. This is the ideal time to intervene with targeted treatments:

  • Advanced Biostimulation: with concentrated formulations for increased collagen and elastin stimulation.
  • Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers: to fill in more pronounced wrinkles, such as nasolabial grooves and perioral wrinkles, and to restore lost volume at the cheekbones and lips.
  • Medium Chemical Peels:for a slightly deeper exfoliation, aimed at stimulating cell renewal, improving skin texture, tone, and radiance, while also diminishing superficial blemishes.

At 40-55 years of age: regeneration and redefinition

With full maturity, skin tends to gradually lose elasticity and volume. Treatments need to be more incisive to counteract the signs of aging. The main goal is to counter skin sagging, improve skin quality, and provide deep hydration. Recommended treatments include:

  • Specific Anti-Age Skincare: the use of targeted cosmetics becomes even more important to support professional treatments and maintain results over time.
  • Hyaluronic acid-based Volumizing Fillers: indicated to restore lost volume in strategic areas such as cheekbones, chin, and temples, redefine facial contours, and smooth deeper wrinkles.
  • Biostimulation: preventive treatments aimed at stimulating long-term collagen production, resulting in reduced skin laxity and improved skin firmness and tone.
  • Combined Treatments:  combining different techniques, such as fillers, peels, and biostimulation, can optimize results.

Over the age of 55: maintenance and harmony

Beyond the age of 55, the main goal is not to erase the passing of time but rather to enhance mature and natural beauty while maintaining a fresh and harmonious appearance. At this stage, the skin may show increased loss of elasticity, deeper wrinkles, accentuated skin laxity, discolorations, and decreased hydration. The ideal approach is comprehensive facial harmonization through combined and customized treatments that respect individual features and promote a natural and balanced result.

The recommended treatments for a face over 55 are mainly combination treatments: the combined approach, involving the synergistic use of different techniques is often the most effective strategy to achieve a harmonious and natural result, tailored to the specific needs of each patient, aimed at global harmonization of the face.

Conclusion

Beauty is ageless, but each stage of life requires special attention. Relying on qualified specialists in aesthetic medicine is essential to receive personalized and safe treatments designed to enhance natural beauty and ensure harmonious results over time.
