By following a balanced diet and getting the right amount of physical activity, body filler will improve and support the areas of the body that need it most, helping to restore confidence and a new smile to your self-esteem. This body filler ensures a completely safe, rapid treatment that restores body volumeby reducing skin laxity.

Natural and harmonious results

The treatment stands out for its innovative formulation that uses next-generation cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which provides immediate toning and rapid hydration. The Opéra V body filler was created to fill the blank canvas for improvement, smoothing and harmonizing the areas of the body that need it. It goes beyond small imperfections, but offers the possibility of working on larger volumes such as the buttocks, calves, knees, and forearms.

Clinical photography: documenting and evaluating the results of medical-aesthetic treatments

November 29, 2023 Linda Ksurgery MED, News and Updates 116

Clinical photography is an essential pillar in documenting and monitoring aesthetic medicine treatments. The use of pre- and post-treatment photos not only documents the patient's progress but also serves as a fundamental tool for medical records, medical analysis, and scientific dissemination.

Methodology and Precision

To obtain high-quality clinical photos it is important to follow a standardized approach, the key points of which to consider are:

  • Uniform lighting: essential to ensure a faithful reproduction of reality. Ideally, use uniform natural or artificial light, without shadows or reflections.
  • Neutral background: A solid background, light or dark, helps highlight your subject and reduce distractions.
  • Multiple viewpoints: Taking photos from different angles allows you to highlight details and particulars.
  • Remove makeup and jewelry: These external influences can alter the natural appearance of the face and body, compromising the accuracy of the treatment analysis.

Recommended Photographic Tools

Choosing a smartphone for clinical photography is recommended for its convenience and ability to capture high-quality images. It's essential to ensure the smartphone has features such as a camera of at least 12 megapixels with optical image stabilization, autofocus, and macro mode.

Photographic Technique

Shooting technique is crucial to achieving high-quality photographs. It's advisable to maintain a grid over the image for a proportionate and subject-centered framing. Consistent use of settings and the same equipment for pre- and post-processing ensures consistent and comparable documentation.

Archive organization

For image storage, using external hard drives with adequate capacity and a storage structure is essential. Creating patient folders with clear and specific data will facilitate case consultation and identification. Furthermore, for privacy , it's best to avoid cloud storage and instead use physically protected hard drives.

Practical tips

To optimize time and ensure satisfactory results, it is recommended:

  • Preparing the patient: Before taking photos, it is important to prepare the patient, explaining what to do and how to position themselves.
  • Take a test shot: Before taking your final photos, it's a good idea to take a test shot to check the lighting, composition, and focus.
  • Reviewing Photos: After taking photos, it is important to review them carefully to ensure they are high quality and properly document the case.

Privacy and Clinical Photography: Rights and Responsibilities

Clinical photography is an essential discipline for documenting and monitoring medical-aesthetic treatments. However, the dissemination of sensitive images may raise privacy concerns.

Informed consent

The first step in ensuring patient privacy is obtaining informed consent, a written document that explains to the patient the purposes of the photography, how the images will be used, and their rights, including the right to withdraw consent at any time.

Clinical photographs can be used for various purposes, such as documenting clinical cases, disseminating scientific information, or promoting professional practice. It's important to specify the purpose of the photography in the informed consent form, so that the patient can make an informed decision about whether or not to give consent.

An important resource for aesthetic medicine

Clinical photography is a valuable tool for aesthetic medicine. To achieve optimal results, it requires a combination of technical precision, appropriate tools, and careful data organization. Following the tips above ensures that clinical images are used appropriately, providing physicians with valuable information for patient monitoring, medical analysis , and scientific dissemination.

Aesthetic medicine among young people: a growing trend

November 6, 2023 Linda Ksurgery MED, News and Updates 113

The demand for aesthetic treatments among young people is increasing, both in Italy and around the world. This trend is due to several factors, including the growing attention paid to social media, which exposes young people to images of idealized beauty, and the increased focus on physical and mental well-being.

According to official estimates released by Sicpre (Italian Society of Reconstructive-Regenerative and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), aesthetic medicine and surgery treatments have increased by at least 20% in the last year (+67% compared to 2019 and +130% compared to 2020).

A study conducted in 2018 [1] states that as many as 73% of Italian adolescents declared that they had used aesthetic treatments to correct the most common defects, such as acne , stretch marks and scars . But requests for treatments to improve the appearance of the face, such as lip fillers and rhinofillers , are also increasing .

Ethical concerns

In an era where personal image is fundamental and has assumed a central role in daily life, leading young people to seek solutions to improve it, this increased demand for aesthetic treatments among adolescents raises certain ethical concerns, requiring aesthetic medicine professionals to make a careful and informed assessment.

Psychological and emotional assessment

The psychological well-being of young people is key. Patients' emotional and psychological state, as well as their motivations.

An effective tool for this purpose is the DAS-59 (Derriford Appearance Scale)[2], which evaluates psychological difficulties and discomfort related to appearance, which consists of subjecting the patient to adequate counseling, divided into several sessions and involving, in some specific cases, also the family members. This multidisciplinary approach is necessary considering the complex issues related to the risk-benefit assessment and the decision-making process of young patients.

The importance of ethics

From an ethical standpoint, aesthetic procedures should not be excessively invasive and distorting. Aesthetic medicine treatments should aim to improve patients' livesby reducing discomfort related to their appearance and improving their psychological balance, promoting social, emotional, and professional integration.

Psychological and psychopathological aspects

Reflecting on physical and mental well-being is of primary importance, especially in an era where appearance is often emphasized on social media. psychological disorders are increasingly common among young people, significantly impacting their self-esteem and well-being. Therefore, assessing apatient's suitability for aesthetic treatments is essential to ensure their peaceful social interaction.

Conclusions

In conclusion, while the relationship between young people and aesthetic medicine is changing significantly, it is essential that aesthetic medicine professionals approach it in a multidisciplinary manner, carefully evaluating patients' motivations and focusing on improving their psychophysical well-being, rather than pursuing unrealistic beauty ideals.

Buttock Lift: Discover the innovative "Smart Butterfly Butt" technique to enhance your buttocks

March 18, 2022 Marta Ksurgery MED, Treatments 110

In recent years, the boom in aesthetic medicine and surgery has focused on the buttocks. There are numerous techniques available to enhance, augment, and, in some cases, lift the buttocks. Gluteoplasty is one of the most popular options.

What is meant by gluteoplasty?

Gluteoplasty, or Brazilian Butt Lift, is a surgery to augment and reshape the buttocks, changing the shape and size of the buttocks through various techniques.

  1. Gluteal prosthesis implantation
  2. Lipofilling, or use of autologous fat
  3. Hyaluronic acid filler

In short, if the first two are two real surgical interventions, the hyaluronic acid filler is an aesthetic medicine treatment.

In other words, therefore, less invasive and without outpatient recovery times, which is enjoying enormous success internationally.

What does hyaluronic acid filler mean??

First of all, by body filler with hyaluronic acid we mean a medical gluteoplasty that involves infiltrations of absorbable hyaluronic acid.

The infiltration is carried out with a hyaluronic acid specific for the body, which increases the volume of the butt.

Among the major advantages of hyaluronic acid gluteoplasty is the fact that it is performed in an outpatient setting with very light local anesthesia and does not require any special post-treatment care

All the advantages of gluteoplasty with hyaluronic acid

  • Outpatient procedure under local anesthesia
  • Also ideal for slimmer patients
  • Possibility to evaluate shape and size during the outpatient session itself
  • No recoveryor post-operative
  • Absorbable
  • Repeatable

Doctor Bove's Smart Butterfly Butt

The Smart Butterfly Butt is a technique patented by Doctor Pierfrancesco Bove, aesthetic plastic surgeon.

First of all, it is a completely painless technique as the area is treated with local anesthesia, so the client does not feel any discomfort during the treatment or in the period immediately following it.

"It's a filler," Bove continues, "that is, a completely absorbable injectable substance based on hyaluronic acid. It can add volume and lift the buttocks. Obviously, the products used for the body are completely different from those used for the face, in terms of concentration, density, and 'volumizing' capacity."

In particular, thanks to the quality of the product used and the specific application area preferred in the Smart Butterfly Butt, the patient obtains excellent, long-lasting results.

The result is a very natural appearance. The buttocks are volumized and have an immediate lifting effect, with the upper and middle poles lifted.

Jessner Peel: The Ideal Treatment for Sensitive Skin

November 25, 2021 Marta Ksurgery MED, Aesthetic Medicine 116

In common parlance, the Jessner Solution generally refers to a chemical peel with a notable lightening and smoothing effect, which contains multiple benefits for the skin. In this article, we will focus on understanding the original composition of the Jessner peel, comparing it with both the modified version and a TCA-based peel.

peeling for aesthetic medicine

What is meant by Jessner Solution

The Jessner peel is a treatment with remarkable regenerating and clarifying properties. It's ideal for all skin types because it exfoliates only on the surface. Its exfoliating power, which rarely penetrates deeper than desired, is therefore gentleand particularly suitable for sensitive skin.

In its localized use, its keratolytic and lightening effects are recognized .

Jessner Solution Peels: What are they for?

The Jessner peeling is an ideal treatment for treating damage caused by photoaging and chronoaging.

With its delicate soft resurfacing, it acts on perioral wrinkles, blemishes and acquired pigmentation.

The Jessner solution is an excellent treatment to offer to patients who have seborrheic skin with enlarged pores or acne scars.

Jessner peeling

What is meant by modified Jessner peel?

Ksurgery has renewed the well-known solution by replacing Salicylic Acid with Succinic Acid and Resorcinol, a derivative of resorcinol.

He therefore chose to offer his customers a new composition:

  • Lactic Acid | An acid that promotes skin exfoliation, reaching even the deepest layers of the epidermis.
  • Succinic Acid | Blocks free radicals, exerts an antioxidant effect, stimulates tissue respiration, and increases the synthesis of structural proteins in the skin.
  • Resorcinol derivative | Known for its beneficial properties against acne

Jessner vs. Modified Jessner: What are the differences?

Thanks to its specific formulation, renewed in its active ingredients and intent, the Modified Jessner is a less aggressive chemical peel than the traditional Jessner solution and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT MODIFIED JESSNER

Jessner vs. TCA: What are the differences?

A TCA peel is generally a stronger chemical peel than a Jessner peel. It penetrates deeper into the dermis to address more pronounced signs of aging and hyperpigmentation. TCA-based peels promote deep cell turnover, revealing healthier, younger-looking skin.

It's important to remember that TCA peels also offer varying levels of action. Different concentrations of trichloroacetic acid allow them to address different types of skin blemishes and be used on more or less sensitive skin.

Jessner Peel: Treatment Costs

How much does a Jessner peel cost? Obviously, the price is determined by the clinic or medical practice performing the treatment, but generally speaking, the price range is between €70 and €100 per session.

Jessner Peel: Effects on the Skin

The Jessner peel is a treatment with no side effects and the patient can resume his or her normal life without any limitations.

After your skin has been treated with Jessner solution, it is generally recommended to avoid sun exposure, sweating, scratching or rubbing your face.

We advise against taking particularly hot showers and vigorous massages. Likewise, we strongly advise against further peeling in the days following the treatment.

For customers who wish, it will be possible to wear makeup without limitations, with particular attention to the foundation, which must not contain heavy metals.

MODIFIED JESSNER: The new Jessner solution for physicians

Ksurgery has updated the popular Jessner by replacing salicylic acid with succinic acid and resorcinol, a derivative of resorcinol. The result is a chemical peel that, thanks to its specific formulation, is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Peeling for Doctors: A Brief Guide

October 26, 2021 Marta Ksurgery MED, Aesthetic Medicine 117

Medical peels, better known as chemical peels, are a must-have treatment for any aesthetic physician or dermatologist. Their ease of use, rapid application, and immediately visible results make them one of the most popular treatments among patients. In the following article, we'll provide information on the most effective medical peels on the market.

peeling for aesthetic medicine

How does medical peeling work?

The methodology of medical skin peeling is based on anassisted exfoliation of the dermis, which helps to This procedure is used to remove dead cells from the stratum corneum and thus promote accelerated skin regeneration.

Chemical peels are recommended to help with numerous skin blemishes: keratosis, lentigo solaris, pigmentation alterations, chloasma and melasma, acne, sebaceous hyperplasia, superficial scars and superficial wrinkles: a multifunctional product in order to restore tone, freshness and brightness to the face.

Medical peeling is not performed in a beauty salon

medical peels should not be confused with cosmetic peels, which instead work only on the stratum corneum of the skin. Medical peels use one or more acids that act on the skin at a chemical level.

The higher concentration of chemical active ingredients used in medical peels means that only a doctor can perform this type of treatment on patients.

Peeling: all types of peeling according to doctors

Peels differ based on the different level of exfoliation and therefore their intensity of action.

Superficial peeling: its characteristics

In superficial peeling, the professional uses a delicate acid, which works on the uppermost layer of the dermis.

It's a low-intensity peel, ideal for most patients. Its action helps improve the skin's appearance, enhancing its smoothness and radiance, as well as even out its complexion.

Medium peeling: its characteristics

While superficial peels helped enhance the beauty and well-being of the face, neck, décolleté, and hands, medium-intensity peels also improved age spots and lentigo. This type of peel provides a more structured approach to blemishes, helps smooth skin roughness, and treats actinic keratosis.

Deep peeling: its characteristics

A deep peel is a product used exclusively by aesthetic doctors or dermatologists. This peel targets the deeper layers of the dermis and therefore helps address a wide range of facial blemishes, such as deep wrinkles, age spots, and superficial scars.

Medical peels: where to buy them

Ksurgery Ksurgery offers a wide range of peels for doctors and aesthetic clinics based on the most effective substances: mandelic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, Jessner solution, and TCA

Depending on the objectives and the intensity of exfoliation to be achieved, the doctor will be able to choose the most suitable peel for his patient
