Hyaluronic acid is an organic substance naturally found in all vertebrates’ tissues . 

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide molecule (consisting of a long linear chain of gluconic acid and N-acetylcysteine disaccharides) belonging to the family of glycosaminoglycans. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an important component of the extracellular matrix and it is recognized to be involved in many tissue repair mechanisms in the skin . Hyaluronic acid, thanks to its ability to bind water molecules, contributes not only to give hydration, but also volume to the tissues, in addiction to structural support and antioxidant action.

Hyaluronic acid is obtained from bacterial fermentation, thus it is not a product of animal origin,but it is obtained through advanced biotechnological processes.

There are no significant risks for those undergoing filler treatment. There are some cases in which filler treatments are incompatible, such as during pregnancy, with autoimmune dermatological diseases, blood clotting dysfunction or particular allergies to the substances that are injected.
